The Helotes Economic Development Corporation is now soliciting proposals for a major art sculpture for the traffic circle in Old Town Helotes. See attached Call for Artists for more information. Project: Major Art Sculpture for OTH Traffic Circle
Funding: Up to $35,000
Project Summary
The Helotes Economic Development Corporation seek to commission a permanent, site-specific, outdoor installation at the traffic circle located in Old Town Helotes. The HEDC invites artists/artist teams to submit their qualifications and conceptual design to be considered.
Project Objective
• Foster community pride and convey a sense of Helotes;
• Incorporate a sense of Texas, the Hill Country, and or Helotes;
• Support the City’s visitor and tourism industry by enhancing our growing collection of art;
Project Scope
The installation will occupy no more than a 15-foot radius. This is a high-traffic area, and visibility must be maintained for vehicular traffic. Furthermore, it must be made of materials that can withstand Texas weather.
Budget
The budget for this project is a matching grant of up to $35,000, with additional funding possible through other partnerships.

• Artist rendering of the concept
• Artist resume or bio for each artist
