Warrant Resolution Initiative

From March 1–31, 2025, the Helotes Municipal Court will hold a warrant resolution initiative for all active warrants.

Individuals who pay in full during this period will receive a 25% discount to resolve their cases.

Active Warrants

A warrant will be issued when:

  • An individual has failed to appear for charges filed on a citation
  • Failed to comply with orders of the Court
  • Not completing payment plans or failed to make payments as directed by the Judge
  • Failed to appear on a summons or order to appear before the Court

When a warrant is issued, additional charges are applied. The maximum fine may be assessed and a denial for renewal of the individual’s driver’s license will be administered pursuant to Chapter 706 of the Texas Transportation Code under the Failure to Appear Program.

Payments on Active Warrants

There are limited payment options after a case has turned into an active warrant. Payment arrangements may be made, but the individual’s driver’s license will not be released until the warrant has been paid in full and/or a final disposition has been made.

For more information regarding an active warrant, contact Helotes Warrant Officer, Corporal Fontanes at 210-695-5924 or call Helotes Municipal Court at 210-695-5903.

To check the status of your driver’s license eligibility, go to the Texas Department of Public Safety (TX DPS) website.

Individuals may visit the Texas Failure to Appear website to check if they have an active warrant with the City of Helotes or another jurisdiction participating in the program.
