About the Fire Marshal

The Helotes Fire Marshal is responsible for enforcing City Code, reviewing new development construction plans, conducting site inspections, and coordinating public education. He interacts with various departments, vendors, and the public to ensure projects taking place in the community comply with Fire Code. The main goal of the Helotes Fire Marshal’s Office is safety.

Fire Code Highlights

The 2021 edition of the International Fire Code applies within the City of Helotes.

 

Fireworks

The sale and discharge of fireworks within the City Limits of Helotes is unlawful and strictly prohibited at any time. The only exception is when a permit is approved by the Helotes City Council and issued by the Helotes Fire Marshal’s Office.

 

Burn Ban

Burning of trash, leaves, tree limbs, construction materials, or household garbage is not permitted in the City of Helotes. Burning is allowed for domestic outdoor cooking and warmth, however, such burning must be contained in an approved noncombustible container.

 

Fire Code Violations

To report a Fire Code violation, call 210-695-2500. Violations of the Fire Code are subject to fines of up to $2,000 per offense.
