May 3, 2025 General Election Cancelled

The candidates in the May 2025 Election are unopposed and the local city election has been cancelled.

City Council

Helotes is not divided into districts. Each Council Member represents the City as a whole. To view the elected governing body and their term expiration, visit the City Council page.

General Election Schedule (subject to change)

  • December 16, 2024 – Last day to post notice of candidate filing deadline
  • January 15, 2025 – First day to file for a place on the General Election ballot
  • February 14, 2025 – Last day to file for a place on the General Election ballot and last day to order Election
  • April 3, 2025 – Last day to register to vote
  • April 21, 2025 – First day of Early Voting by personal appearance
  • April 22, 2025 – Last day to apply for a ballot to be voted by mail (received, not postmarked)
  • April 29, 2025 – Last day of Early Voting by personal appearance
  • May 3, 2025 – Election Day

Electioneering at Helotes City Hall

It is the responsibility of each candidate or group wishing to electioneer at City Hall to request an electioneering space before the start of the early voting period. Sign-up for the May 2025 General Election will begin on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. Spaces shall be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. If the voting period is underway, and spaces are still available, the candidate/group will be provided an electioneering space request form.
