Stray or Abandoned Animals
Animal Control impounds unrestrained or lost animals. Impounded animals are checked for microchips or other identifying information.
When no identification is found or the owners do not claim a lost pet, the animal is kenneled at the De Zavala-Shavano Veterinary Clinic located at 4408 Lockhill Selma Road (phone 210-699-3939). Animals may also be impounded at the Helotes Humane Society or San Antonio Humane Society.
