The City of Helotes Planning & Zoning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 12951 Bandera Road, Helotes, Texas 78023 to receive public comments on a request from McDonald’s for a specific use permit that will allow the new fast food restaurant to have drive-thru facility service at 11443 Shaenfield Road, Helotes, TX 78023. The property is zoned General Business District (B3) and is currently identified as BCAD Property ID Nos. 236168 & 236169.
City Council will hold a Public Hearing on the same request, on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 12951 Bandera Road, Helotes, Texas 78023.
McDonald’s is proposed on Shaenfield Road, near its intersection with FM 1560. The property abuts an existing CVS Pharmacy Store. City ordinance requires restaurants in the General Business District (B3) to obtain authorization to operate a drive-thru lane. The subject property was annexed at the City Council Meeting on January 23, 2025, and subsequently zoned on March 13, 2025.
An item report by City Staff will be available when the Planning & Zoning Commission and City Council Agendas are posted for consideration of this application. Agendas are posted at least 72 hours prior to the date of the meeting.
