May 7, 2022 General Election

The candidate positions up for election in May 2022 are Council Member Place 1, Council Member Place 2, and Council Member Place 4. Helotes is not divided into districts. Each Council Member represents the City as a whole.

A digital copy of the City Council Candidate Application Packet is located on this page, under Election Documents.  A printed copy can be requested in advance for pick up, by sending an email to to citysec@helotes-tx.gov.

General Election Schedule (subject to change)

  • December 20, 2021 – Last day to post notice of candidate filing deadline
  • January 19, 2022 – First day to file for a place on the General Election ballot
  • February 18, 2022 – Last day to file for a place on the General Election ballot and last day to order Election
  • April 7, 2022 – Last day to register to vote
  • April  25, 2022 – First day of Early Voting by personal appearance
  • April 26, 2022 – Last day to apply for a ballot to be voted by mail (received, not postmarked)
  • May 3, 2022 – Last day of Early Voting by personal appearance
  • May 7, 2022 – Election Day

Election Documents

Electioneering at Helotes City Hall

It is the responsibility of each candidate or group wishing to electioneer at City Hall to request an electioneering space prior to the start of the early voting period. Sign up for the May 2022 General Election will begin on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Spaces shall be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. If the voting period is underway, and there are still spaces available, the candidate/group will be provided an electioneering space request form.
