May 2020 Election postponed to November 2020 due to COVID-19

On March 18, 2020, Texas Governor Gregg Abbott issued a Proclamation suspending Sections 41.0052(a) of the Texas Election Code to allow all local political subdivisions that are utilizing the Saturday, May 2, 2020 election date to postpone their election to the next uniform election date occurring on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Following the Proclamation, Texas Secretary of State issued Election Advisory No. 2020-12, providing the effects of the postponement and the required action needed from the governing body to move the election.

 

On Thursday, March 26, 2020, Helotes City Council approved Ordinance No. 20-04 moving the election scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2020 to the next uniform election occurring on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

 

Election Results

The City of Helotes offices on the November 3, 2020 election ballot were Council Member Place 1, Council Member Place 2, and Council Member Place 4.
